Video Resources: China Clipper: Pan-Am’s cross-ocean clipper service

As promised from yesterday’s post here are some great video resources about the China Clippers and the air service to the Pacific as offered by Pan-Am!

Newsreel footage of the China Clipper Air Service via Pan-Am

This footage shows both the Martin 130 and the later Boeing 314. The footage is provided by Periscope Film. They have great video resources, check them out on Yotube, or their website: https://periscopefilm.com/

A Martin 130 landing. This awesome clip comes from the website www.lostclipper.com

This phenomenal video dates from the Pan-Am glory days. This is a travelogue video, showing the exciting and exotic locations of Wake and Midway. While we know that these islands are hardly paradise, Pan-Am had to sell patrons on long-term stays at their resorts. This would mainly appeal to birdwatchers.

More will be added later, but for now enjoy these videos!
