Join, or Die News 11/18/24: Bureaucrats Panic, Morning Joe's Olive Branch & More!

News & Commentary

📰📰Trump’s new staff appointments and policy plans are causing quite a stir.

Donald Trump vowed to shake things up if the American people chose him again, and they did. It’s clear why the media and political establishment painted him as a terror to be reckoned with. While he’s not a fascist, he is coming for the establishment.

Trump’s cabinet and administrative picks created a frenzy among the media, deep state, and establishment. As they tend to do, all of Trump’s picks were vilified based on the grounds of some made-up morality. Matt Gaetz had an ethics investigation over his head, Tulsi Gabbard is a Russian agent, RFK jr hates vaccines, and everyone else who isn’t working in the interest of Washington and the military-industrial complex is a bad person.

Now, the panic comes from within the government as all the bureaucrats fear for their jobs. The propaganda has been cranked up now that there’s a chance government employees could be held accountable. In an article published by The Hill, the story has a twist. Government employees “don’t want to be beholden to politics.” Essentially, Trump is opening the door for bureaucrat firing because he wants to put loyal pawns in their place.

According to Jacqueline Simon, the policy director for the American Federation of Government Employees, our government employees just want to be left alone to do their jobs. They just “want to do the job according to law and regulation.” Now that these employees want to avoid political pressures, there may be a mass exodus.

Nothing about this take seems remotely accurate. First, the government is highly politicized, as it is packed full of workers who oil the establishment machine. The leftward shift in our government is blatant and inundates every industry, including education, politics, and infrastructure jobs. Funding for government departments depends on political will, as many in government have voiced their discouragement surrounding this issue.

The federal government is wholly progressive, which is a leftist ideological bent on the centralization of power, and the expansion of federal jobs is part of this idea. The ideological capture of the U.S. federal government is evident at this point as federal departments force a leftist cultural ideology on employees.

Second, the idea that these workers just want to be left alone to do their jobs is problematic, as many of these positions are completely useless. The Biden Administration followed Obama’s model and flooded the government with new workers to pump up employment numbers. These workers are incredibly costly, as the average federal worker makes $91,000/ year, and the federal workforce cost over $300 billion in 2023 alone. Government jobs notoriously avoid the merit-based system for promotion and retention. There’s hardly any drive to excel as the taxpayer dollars come in regardless of job output.

The federal government is loaded with agencies that do the same jobs as other federal agencies, and this overlap sucks the system dry. Overlap is just one issue alongside duplication of duties for multiple agencies, while some agencies are forced to take on a huge slate with little support. The federal bureaucracy is loaded with regulatory agencies, including regulatory agencies that regulate the regulatory agencies. This is all incredibly wasteful.

The statement that government workers want to do their jobs and do them according to law and regulation is disingenuous. Trump’s new policy has nothing to do with political loyalty. It focuses on the removal of rogue and corrupt bureaucrats and allows for the removal of costly and useless blob workers. Lifelong bureaucrats undermined Trump’s prior administration, but his idea here is focused on holding bureaucracy accountable and ensuring a merit-based system.

These bureaucrats have no internal drive to do their jobs well or prove their worth to the American people. They can’t be fired, and they aren’t elected. These unelected permanent Washington types can make laws and regulations illegally, outside of the purview of Congress. This is a relic of Woodrow Wilson and the Progressive Era. Wilson dreamed of an “expert class” who could guide and direct the lives of the American peasantry. This expert class now carries itself with arrogance, believing itself to be the genuine adult in the room.

For all of the money dumped into the hands of bureaucrats who make comfortable salaries tied to impressive benefits packages and a guaranteed cushy retirement, the American people get little from this. Even if Trump were to gut the bureaucracy of unnecessary workers, it would not erase the federal employee workforce. Nearly 50% of all federal employees are unnecessary and costly.

Regardless of the lies surrounding Trump’s true intentions, there is no argument convincing enough to tell Americans that bureaucrats should not be fireable. Even if years in office give these workers seniority and experience, they should be working for the American people and removable if necessary. Lifetime appointments with guaranteed paychecks and no accountability run counter to America’s foundational values as you create a sort of nobility, and there’s no recourse when it is deserved.

The propaganda will be turned up to full volume surrounding this. Trump has never stated a word about “political loyalty” regarding bureaucrats. Instead, he is pushing back against permanent Washington types who work counter to American voter interests. Anybody fearing a “politicization” of their job is someone who wants to deny the wishes of American voters, and they want to get away with it. That is it, plain and simple. Hopefully, the useless bureaucracy can be filed down before another Democratic Administration comes in to fill it back up again.

🎙🎙Trump met with “Morning Joe” Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski and vows to give the media a “second chance.”

This might be the most futile thing ever. Joe Scarborough and Brzezinski have long been hostile to Donald Trump. Scarborough falls into the category of propagandist, pushing a narrative of fear surrounding Trump. He’s been instrumental in painting Trump’s supporters as extremists, fascists, hateful, and bigoted. Despite that, Trump, who is supposed to be vengeful and dangerous, met with the pair of MSNBC hosts after years of them calling him “basically Hitler.”

The pair wanted to discuss areas of concern while hoping to compromise mutually over certain issues. Trump told the media he would be open with them as long as he was treated fairly. There are so many things to say about this story.

Trump's willingness to work with the media is surprising. Trump’s standing as a divisive figure is less about him than it is about the media. For 8 years, the media has thrown everything they have against him. They have called his supporters every terrible adjective in the book, calling them extremists, evil, domestic terrorists, fascists, Nazis, and more. They were part of framing him for treason and the numerous sham cases that saw him labeled a “felon” just in time for the election. Rhetoric espoused by the media has divided this country so widely that the media’s supporters on the left are often mentally unsound surrounding Trump and his supporters, leading to violent confrontations.

After Trump was nearly killed in Pennsylvania, as a bullet barely missed his head, he was continually blamed for inciting his own assassination attempt. Just days later, the media was back to calling him the second coming of Hitler. For almost a decade, this nonsense has gone on, and now he’s going to give them their 18th chance.

This is extremely pointless. The whole media-establishment complex is driven by hatred of Trump and his base. Trump and Trumpers run counter to everything the media and establishment stand for. He doesn’t support war, censorship, lawfare, bureaucracy, corruption, propaganda, and focusing on the world abroad instead of home. They do stand for all of those things.

This is a ploy by the media to save their dying industry. Rather than own up to the lies, propaganda, and mistakes they’ve made, they just expect to be welcomed back with open arms. This media-establishment complex has been central to the destructive narrative pushing us apart.

It raises some concerns about Trump and his ability to reflect. Trump has been wronged by the media, sure, but that same entity has deemed his base a threat. Americans who voted for him better hope this isn’t some attempt to play ball with the establishment and cave into their interests again. His first term was largely a failure, as he packed his staff full of establishment figures who ran counter to his agenda simply because they didn’t like this outsider.

This new phase won’t last long as the whole machine of media, politics, and the military despise Donald Trump and his supporters. The political media industry doesn’t deserve the good graces of Americans, or Trump, for that matter. This is the industry that has permitted the American government, allowing them to do heinous things and overreach into our daily lives. The media went along with every step of the Covid insanity and has been proven wrong on every single issue they took a stance on.

The media was handed a huge loss on election day, showing their irrelevance was only growing. Now, they want to rekindle the lost relationship? It sounds like desperation. I would think otherwise if people like Scarborough were willing to admit their mistakes and confess to lies, but that wouldn’t happen. The typical media-political way is to get everything wrong and just pretend like it never happened when they are exposed.

Trump’s new relationship with the media will be volatile. Who knows, maybe it will work out. This comes after Trump sued the New York Times for defamation, a wholly justified feat. This new stunt by the media to rekindle things may be a way to save them from future suits like this.

🔥🔥Joe Biden authorizes the use of U.S. arms to strike inside of Russia.

Just a few weeks after the election, Biden gave the thumbs-up for Ukrainian use of American arms. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said just one day after the election that Trump’s victory could ensure a quicker end to the war in Ukraine. Just weeks after that statement, things might escalate again between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Reuters, this may help Ukraine come negotiation time, but the Kremlin has warned that it will be seen as a major escalation. Russian officials have said this move could spark World War III.

At this point, we need to wonder why the Biden Administration has done this. Very little has been done to actually see an end to this conflict. Sanctions clearly aren’t working, as Russia is now entering the third year of this conflict, come February 2025. This war is more akin to a World War I attritional slog than to a grand war of mobility. Casualties are incredibly high as both sides duke it out over minimal territorial gain.

While talks of potential negotiation seem to be making the rounds, the Biden Administration decided to ramp up hostilities. The current administration is just months from seeing the door. They have been very hawkish on Russia to the point of recklessness, giving American taxpayer money away to keep the meat grinder running.

This move by Biden seems so stupid and bound to induce retaliation that it seems like the point behind it. With just months to go, the lame-duck president would rather ramp up this war than push a negotiation that could add a rare positive mark to his presidential resume. Instead, the POTUS would rather make things worse.

Is there a hope that things could escalate before Trump takes the White House? There could be. That seems incredibly evil, wasteful, and stupid, but there seems to be little sanity surrounding this current administration.

This war has to end via negotiation. Neither side can concoct a major offensive to land a decisive blow. Both sides' industrial capabilities are being taxed. Countless bodies and mountains of money have been wasted in this war. Unfortunately, Putin won’t stop this war without some guarantees that he will retain territory or keep Ukraine from joining NATO. Will the U.S. allow that? With the active poking of the proverbial bear, the U.S. seems more driven to draw this thing out than ever.
