Join, or Die News: 12/12/24: Christopher Wray Resigns, the FBI needs an overhaul, and the GEC shuts down.

News & Commentary

🚨🚨The FBI and DOJ need a total overhaul, and that’s the understatement of the century.

According to a Breitbart story released on December 10, 2024, the DOJ spied on Kash Patel in 2017. Patel wasn’t the only target. In fact, Democratic Congress members Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell were targeted along with 21 Democrat and 20 Republican staffers. The DOJ was trying to seal a leak surrounding the Russian collusion hoax investigation. Internal policies were bypassed, and proper Attorney General permissions were not obtained.

Combine the DOJ story with a newly released one about the FBI, and you will have further proof that things need to change. In this story by Just the News, the FBI has been illegally monitoring the bank accounts of numerous Americans. Much like the treatment social media companies receive, members of the FBI have directly approached different banks, prodding them into surveilling Americans they deem to be “suspicious.”

Since the first Trump term, the government has been exposed. Our system is not only filled with corrupt actors; the various entities within operate outside of any reasonable boundaries. There has been clear collusion between certain connected politicians and our intelligence agencies. Inside baseball information that could be damning politically always has a way of “leaking” into the outside world.

The government overreach is beyond what many Americans ever thought possible. The protected bureaucrats in America operate in the dark, bypassing the laws and checks put in place by our founders as a way to protect the precious establishment.

Trump’s picks for various positions have outraged the establishment. While these government actors claim the picks represent a danger to our country due to some perceived ineptitude, it’s obviously not the thing they’re bothered by. Deserved investigations and possible retribution are on the way. This is a necessary step toward fixing our broken system.

📰📰The Saga of FBI Director Christopher Wray forces us to hope Trump learned his lesson.

When Donald Trump first took the White House in 2017, he promised to “drain the swamp.” The campaign he spent railing against the establishment and the broken American system brought so many Americans hope for a future of change. Things didn’t end up changing.

Trump’s first tenure was one of broken promises. While he ran as a contrarian to permanent Washington, he spent much of his time trying to appease them. He made terrible picks, choosing leaders like John Bolton, Bill Barr, Jim Mattis, Mike Pompeo, Nikki Haley, and more. Among his list of abysmal staff picks was Christopher Wray for FBI director.

Wray announced his resignation on the cusp of Trump’s second term. While many will look at Christopher Wray and say, “he’s a Republican!” just remember that doesn’t mean “friend.” Wray is a holdover from the George W. Bush Administration. He served under Bush’s Attorney General James Comey, the same guy who later led the FBI. In case you’re not familiar with the endeavors of Comey, he directed the FBI to spy on Trump’s first presidential campaign and was always part of the “Trump is an existential threat” club. So, Wray learned from the best.

Trump picked Wray so succeed Comey as FBI director based on the suggestion of establishment, Trump-hating Republican, Chris Christie. In case you don’t remember, Christie is the former Governor of New Jersey who ran a 2024 presidential campaign based on being the “counter-Trump,” candidate. Christie is the same one who recommended Wray to head the FBI.

Wray’s tenure as the FBI head has been filled with scandals. During his time the bureau targeted Catholics and the parents of schoolchildren. The FBI has been dealing with a sexual harassment problem, showing unfair leniency toward leadership within the organization. Wray himself seemed to lack any real drive to solve the mystery behind the first Trump Assassination attempt. He nonchalantly tried to parrot media conspiracies by claiming there was no evidence Trump was struck by a bullet during the first assassination attempt.

Figures like Christopher Wray represent a bygone era. Things are less about Democrat vs. Republican. The old guard 90s and Bush-era Republicans are far more akin to support the establishment than they are the average Republican voter. Despite Trump having that “R” next to his name, these “Republicans” want nothing to do with an outsider. Trump doesn’t know how to play their game. This game is where they grant each other permission to abuse power, spend limitless piles of money, and give a big fat middle finger to the average American.

With Kash Patel replacing Christopher Wray, it sure seems like the president-elect has learned his lesson. There are some terrible picks within his foreign policy wing. Keeping deep-state establishment types away from the actual deep-state seems to be something Trump is serious about. Watchdogs are on the hunt now, and guys like Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk are keeping tabs on the bloated bureaucracy.

Christopher Wray leaving the FBI is a win for Americans who want change. There are plenty of holdovers seeking to drag Trump’s administration down. While they claim it’s because they’re the “experts” who know what’s best for the American people, they’re doing this to protect the power structures they have benefited from for so long. Senators like Mitch McConnell, who refuses to approve many of Trump’s administrative choices, have never really “cared” for the American people. McConnell is a guy who has continually sold America’s future for numerous wars and pointless government spending. Wray falls into the same category of “Republican.”

We have to hope things continue to change, or we’ll be bogged down by the current system for generations to come. Hopefully, the president-elect learned his lesson on picks like Christopher Wray.

💻💻The US State Department is shuttering its flagship censorship center.

The Global Engagement Center is on its way out. We should all pour one out for the organization that started it all, the beginning of censoring us on the internet for having the wrong thoughts.

The Global Engagement Center (GEC) was founded in 2016 to combat “terrorism and extremism” online. While the center was designed to catch ISIS sympathizers, the organization expanded to countering “disinformation” coming from possible hostile nations like China, Russia, and Iran. The GEC quickly moved beyond the organization's purview, taking to censoring Americans online.

The GEC regularly contacted social media companies like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. While they wanted to “counter foreign propaganda and disinformation,” they did target American content creators. The GEC worked with NGOs known to counter “misinformation and disinformation,” funneling U.S. taxpayer dollars to target free speech. The organization partnered with entities like the Election Integrity Partnership and the Global Disinformation Index, both known to push censorship.

The GEC is a pet project of the State Department, the government arm most heavily involved in a worldwide censorship complex. The State Department is the same government entity in regular cahoots with organizations like Media Matters, a watchdog used to flag media stories as “misinformation.” While the State Department will pretend they’re doing this out of benevolence, it is a play at control over global information.

Several reports of the GEC's overreach have circulated in the last few years. The organization sought to censor speech surrounding the 2020 election. The GEC flagged “dangerous” posts about the lab theory surrounding the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic, a theory that turned out to be true. These are just a few of the center’s past endeavors.

Several GEC backed groups took it upon themselves to censor Americans online, flagging posts as mis- or disinformation. One group, the Digital Forensic Research Lab, falsely labeled American social media users as “foreign agents.”

The GEC may be on its way out, but those working inside the organization are merely being reassigned elsewhere. Democrat politicians are desperately pushing for a renewal of the organization’s required $100 million funding, but this is highly unlikely with Trump’s incoming administration.

This will be a win for those who care deeply about combating censorship online. Unfortunately, the censorship complex runs deep throughout the United States government and its allies. There is a long battle ahead. If you want to really understand the depth of this thing, listen to the Joe Rogan Experience episode featuring Mike Benz, it will blow your mind wide open.
